The Sudanese can now book their tickets home after they doubled their goals conceded tally with another three goals, this time from Champions Egypt. 3-0 (1-0).
The earlier thumping of Cameroon gave the Egyptians too much confidence and they seemed to struggle in the first ten minutes or so. The Sudanese were fired up for the game after their humiliating defeat against Zambia.
Sudan was first to cause danger, launching a few attacks and throwing men forward right from the beginning. The arrogant Sudanese players felt they could fulfil their ever-present dream of beating Egypt.
The solid Wael Gomaa was clearly the man of the match, and made some vital interceptions throughout the 90 minutes. Another on form Egyptian was the superb Hosni AbdRabu who made the difference once more, penetrating through and dribbling past the keeper to win a penalty. Scoring on the second attempt, as usual, AbdRabu sent the keeper the wrong way and Egypt were 1-0 up without much effort.
Egypt looked in better shape following the goal and dominated the midfield but without causing any real danger.
The pace of the game remained slow until the introduction of legend AbuTreika in place of a hard working Zidan. Zizou had drilled in a volley which was saved, moments before his substitution.
AbuTreika was soon in action masterminding the Egyptians with wonderful passes and touches. It was his magic through pass to Amr Zaki that led to the second goal. Amr received the ball and found AbuTreika, who controlled the ball and sweetly struck the ball home to make it 2-0. He was then booked for revealing a shirt with ''Sympathy with Gaza'' written.
The Ahly architect made it game over a few minutes later scoring a terrific goal. He raced into the Sudan area, cleverly tricking the keeper by slotting the ball into the near post. Real magic from the magician.
The remainder of the game saw violence from the Sudanese players who need to have more realistic dreams in future.
Ahmed Hassan's introduction proved why Egypt performed really well in his absence. The Egypt captain managed to miss pass almost every ball he received, and break down every Egyptian counter attack.
Final score 3-0 and a comfortable win for Egypt.
Elsewhere in Ghana 2008:
Today Cameroon thrashed Zambia 5-1, and will look forward to a similar score line against Sudan in their final group game.
Ghana top group A with six points, but will need to avoid defeat from Morocco to secure top spot.
Ivory Coast also lead their group and will need to avoid defeat from Mali to finish first.
Group D is still wide open with all teams on one point from the first game.
